Adaptive Sports & Leisure
Providing Opportunity Through Adaptation
Clovernook Center partners with local sports organizations to remove barriers and ensure children with blindness or low vision have a chance to learn, play and leverage sports to improve their ability and empower their futures. Adaptive sports like hockey, tennis, goalball, skiing, and rock climbing provide minor adaptations so people with visual impairments can participate. For example, hockey uses a slightly larger puck filled with ball bearings so athletes can track its progress across the ice.
Partnering for Success
Clovernook Center partners with adaptive sports providers with a history of working with individuals with disability. With their help, Clovernook Center creates a fun, safe environment specifically designed for young people with visual impairments.
