Partnering to Provide Comprehensive Care
The Pediatric Low Vision Clinic at Clovernook Center is operated in partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Ophthalmology Department. The clinic provides comprehensive low vision evaluation and rehabilitation services for children aged 3-21 with visual impairments to enhance remaining vision for children with permanent vision loss.
A transdisciplinary team of professionals specializing in ophthalmology, low vision, occupational therapy, orientation and mobility and education complete an individualized low vision evaluation and rehabilitation plan for each child. Evaluations last approximately one hour.
What to bring:
- Completed paperwork provided by the clinic team.
- Eyeglasses and any low vision devices or assistive technology currently being used.
- Favorite toys.
- Examples of schoolwork.
Following an evaluation, you will receive a detailed report with recommendations for parents, caregivers, teachers and doctors. A Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) will also contact you.
