Tactile Revolutions

This week, the Tactile Revolutions exhibit opens at NKU’s Fine Arts Center. This exhibit showcases more than 100 3D models and a variety of other tactile resources designed and produced by Clovernook Center. More about the exhibit below.

Revolutionize the way you experience art. Tactile Revolutions is an exhibit born from the need to make art more accessible for blind and visually impaired (BVI) individuals. But everyone can benefit from inclusive tactile design practices—paintings you can feel, sculptures you can hold in your hand, and print/braille materials making it possible for BVI and sighted friends to read alongside each other! This exhibit demonstrates how Clovernook makes Tactile Revolutions possible by using BVI-friendly tactile design and production methods like 3D models, Swell Touch tactile graphics and large print/braille. Guests of the exhibit are encouraged to touch all artifacts on display—that is how they are designed to be experienced. 

The exhibit will be open to visit from August 27th to September 17th, 2026. Visiting hours are 9am-7pm Monday through Friday. Located in the main gallery and third floor gallery of the Fine Arts Center on NKU’s campus. A collaboration between Clovernook Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired and Northern Kentucky University.
