In August, Clovernook Center launched a new podcast series, “Boldly BVI” that celebrates the stories of those living boldly with blindness or visual impairments. The bimonthly podcast shares motivational stories, insights and BVI resources.

Cohosted by Clovernook Center’s Brian Anderson, arts and accessibility coordinator, and Stephanie Jones, technology and accessibility coordinator, the first episode featured three individuals from around the country. Dave Wilkinson is a blind, competitive cyclist who is based in Louisville, Sophia Salehi is a rising senior at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts and Shawn Dobbs is an executive at Lighthouse for the Blind in Seattle. Each individual shared personal stories about living boldly with blindness or low vision and shared helpful resources and insights for those living with visual impairments.

The second episode which launched in late October featured Austin Maynard, an award-winning videographer; Janet LaBreck, a consultant appointed by the Obama administration; and Kirk Adams, a former Lighthouse and American Federation for the Blind CEO.

You can check out “Boldly BVI” on your favorite listening platform or access full videos on YouTube here. The third episode, which launches in December, will feature holiday celebrations.
